Have You Swept Your Temple Today?

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

The Temple needed to be swept and cleaned on a regular basis. We need to clean out our temple also ~ in all areas of our life.

Physically, you have a need to keep clean on the outside, but also a need to drink water to flush out impurities from the inside. And you have a responsibility to keep out things that are harmful.

Concerning your spirit and soul you also have a responsibility to keep the temple clean.

The old thoughts and ways need to be swept out to keep clean and open to what the Lord wants to do NOW and in the coming times. Just because something was tolerated and “ok” before, doesn’t mean it is right for now.

Have you had a “victim mentality” concerning things that have happened to you? God calls you an overcomer, not a victim.

Are there things in your life that you consider failures? God says that He can even use those and turn them to our good.

Have you had successes? Even thoughts of those can stand in our way when we decide that if something worked before then that is the way we must do it from now on. God may have another idea of how to handle the situation today. “Behold I will do a new thing!” If you are locked into the “this is the way we do it” mentality, you may miss out on seeing God move in mighty and different way.

Is there anyone you haven’t forgiven? That is filth in the sight of the Lord and must be cleaned out of the Temple. Even if it is yourself that remains unforgiven, you must deal with it to keep the temple clean.

The lessons you have learned in the past are not the final result. Take them and allow them to become stepping-stones to future lessons. Think on them from God’s perspective instead of from your own.
